I have a Master in Library and Information Science degree from Dominican University, a Master of Science in Management degree from Minot State University, and a BFA in Fine Art from Columbia College in Chicago, IL. I like to examine the details of life, both biological and lived experiences, and portray it through a visual means. My artwork expresses the details in the patterns found in nature; such as on butterfly wings, the fractal like patterns of bare tree branches in winter, and the basics of color theory. I bring out the abstract qualities of these biological phenomena by magnifying the details and recreating them through painting, collage, video, photography, and digital manipulation. My influences stem from both Jewish and Secular art theories in the Modern and Post-Modern art movements.
